Keep it friendly
In this modern time of education and enlightenment about the greener things in life, making everything as eco-friendly as possible is something which many of us are striving to do – not just at home, but in the office as well. Here, below, are a few tips to make your office as kind as it can be, without upsetting anyone or making work life less efficient.
1) Do you really need to replace those ugly plastic tables with yet more plastic tables? Wooden tables are a great way to start, so why not enquire with a local craftsman about getting some made? The best thing about this, of course, is that you can have them made to your unique specification. That means great things for the comfort of your work force.

2) Buy only recycled loo-roll for the staff toilets: really, there’s no excuse for not doing this. The quality is just the same and so you’re not really losing out.
3) Consider using data cleansing services and other companies who care about the world around us: this one is a big one...after all, how often have you discovered that a partner business to the company you work for is only interested in making money over everything? There are loads of companies out there who are working to make the world a better place, so be sure to support them.
4) Be sure to employ people who care about green things: if someone isn’t bothered about turning the lights off after they leave a room, then do you really want them in your company? What about the guys who look after the data and make sure it’s kept free of corrupted files. Are they wasting electricity or leaving the taps in the WC running? If they are then they need a stern talking to, because each and every one of these things is not only losing you money it’s also adding yet more negativity to the environment which can easily be avoided if you stop and think.
5) Talk to your boss about ways to save electricity and even about solar power panels on the roof: some boss’s are more open than others to discussing things like this, but one thing is certain all boss’s want to save money. If you can explain to your boss that they are losing money every year through needless things, not only will it be good for the company but you may just get a pay rise with it!
